Dylan Rheingold (she/her)

Exploring various moments adapted from my familial archives is the motif of my work. Through the notion of storytelling, I recreate fictional subjects inspired by my memory and ancestral roots. Most of my self reflection fixates around mundane moments and scenes of everyday life in both private and public settings. I am the eldest daughter of a first generation American, Japanese mother, and a Jewish American father. Through large scale mixed media paintings, I explore the idea of “otherness” in a dualistic and prideful manner. Highlighting elements of nostalgia and patrimonial narratives within my own identity.
